I was very happy and honored to have one of my custom commissions featured in Atlanta Weddings Spring/Summer issue, on newstands March 1st. This particular painting I did is of Druid Hills United Methodist Church.
My uber-talented photographer brother, Jeremy Harwell, shot the painting and the main bridal fashion feature.

The gorgeous flowers are by Amy Osaba

If you're looking for an award-winning and versatile photographer, check out his website here.
A huge thanks to Jeremy and the editors at Atlanta Weddings!

So fun to see Jennifer (of Pink Pagoda) put together a great gallery wall comprised of colorful prints. Honored to have my "Anna Spiro" chair print included. Check out her post here.
How do you like gallery walls?

Are you a pinhead?  Do you find yourself  making excuses to check your latest Pinterest notifications to make sure you aren't missing any juicy images or inspiration?  I do not consider myself prone to addictions, as I am fairly laid-back and moderate about most things. I can make a single bag of Nestle toll house chips into dessert for about 5 months. I am going to have to watch myself here, though. I never got into Facebook much, as I consider it more of a necessity for business than an outlet for entertainment or enjoyment (all of those petty status notifications seem very narcissistic and ludicrous) but Pinterest is seriously addictive, especially for the highly visual individual (ME!).  I think it's an absolutely genius invention and I know I am going to have to curb myself so that it doesn't take over TOO big a slice of my time pie.
What about you? Do you love it or what? Follow me here.

Photo courtesy Kate Spade New York

I was pleased to see that Kate Spade has partnered with Australian design house Florence Broadhurst this Spring. I loved the ad campaign and it was fun to spot the "Japanese Floral" pattern as the lead design. I am pretty familiar with it as a few years ago I painted, in painstaking detail, a Frances Elkins designed chair that was upholstered in the pattern. These two versions have been available in my shop for the past few years and you can find them here. I have also added iPhone covers here.

I cannot remember where I got this photo from - I have had it for so long, but I love the vibe it gives off when I look at it! Magical!
Have a wonderful weekend.

I was excited to see my Anna Spiro chair print hung in designer/blogger Sarah Swanson's lovely home that was featured in Alberta Magazine. We artists sometimes get to piggy back on our talented customers and, once in a while, end up in a shelter publication. Kind of fun!

Is everyone else drooling over designer Jules Reid's Virginia home?
Her home and many other amazing spaces are featured in this month's online issue of Matchbook Magazine.
Matchbook design mag just keeps getting better and better.......sigh.
Have a lovely weekend!

Boston-based Erin Gates is a fellow blogger who created Elements of Style blog a few years back and was kind enough to feature my work early on. It's been a lot of fun to witness the dynamic growth of her blog and design firm. Check out ABC Home's "Reveal" blog feature on her this week here.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Some of you may have read past posts where I mentioned Alys Beach, a spectacular little jewel of a resort community on Florida's Gulf Coast. This place is an idyllic spot for vacationing or even living year-round.
This home is an example of the charming homes available for sale and rent. Get a load of that courtyard....

I have a distinct weakness for white stucco, fountains, classic pools and a sugar white beach....

Not your typical resort rental interiors, either. I don't see any velour, fluffy lazy boy recliners or oversized psuedo Tommy Bahama print fabrics, thank God!

and I couldn't resist showing a photo of my nephew, taken by my brother, that headlined the community
e-newsletter this month. Pretty cute, eh?
