FOR THE LOVE OF PEONIES

I have a thing for peonies, but here in Florida they are difficult to find and nearly impossible to grow. Sophie Dahy Designs can deliver an "everlasting" version here in a very country French style arrangement.....your thoughts? Have a beautiful weekend!

Anne-Do you know Grant Gibson? You need to visit his blog for the most stunning peony photos he has taken.

these look quite pretty! While I'd always prefer fresh flowers, I think the convenience and everlasting-beauty of faux is pretty handy! I have some faux peonies on both bedside tables in our master bedroom- just because I too have a love for the flower!

Ooooh I love peonies! Here on the East Coast they grow well so I now have 4 plants in our yard and I'm hoping for more. I'd love to have a hedge of peonies at some point.

These are some of my favorite flowers ever. I'm not sure I'd spend that much to have them delivered though...maybe for a special occasion. I'm planning on planting some in my garden next year!

Have a fabulous weekend. And that Lacoste rep needs to chill out. I bet if there was a poll almost everyone would guess alligator!

Hi Anne,
I love peonies too and have them all blooming right now....but soon to be gone so these faux ones look pretty good.

I just clipped the last of my peonies this week - they have such a short life and they are my favorite. I love the idea of faux flowers that look realistic - thanks for posting this great find!

Wow, those are beautiful. I have about six pink peonies from Whole Foods that I've been staring at for a few minutes every day, because I'm so disappointed they won't open. Maybe it's time to try something like these. Deborah

My wedding bouquet was made of fresh peonies and it was stunning! But, I used a bouquet of faux peonies for my bridal portraits, and used the same as my "toss bouquet." I love them!

I love peonies too! On the bright side these will always look fresh, never need watering and don't come with ants.
Have a golden weekend! xoxo

Anne -- We can't grow peonies here in TX either (too hot, I guess) so just about the only way I'm going to get my hands on some is to get some faux ones.

Have a great weekend!

Love that french wire vase. (And of course the peonies.) A community garden I saw in NY had some vivid orange open peonies with big yellow stamen in the middle - I'd never seen that variety. (I was told they were peonies, anyway.) I couldn't get close enough to take really good photos though.

Not a fan of fake flowers/plants.
Beautiful fresh peonies, subtle scent, seeing them opening and fading...no fake could fill the lack of. I am sure you have beautiful roses which at times resemble peonies or is it too hot for them too?

I just returned from a quick trip to Atlanta and upon return found our peonies on your blog. What a fabulous surprise! Thank you so much! We are working on an arrangement of pink peonies in a Wisteria container that we will be posting soon. Please visit our web store sophiedahydesigns.com and our ETSY store to see more. We have some sweetpeas on both sites!

Some of the faunas look very realistic. Of course they can last the entire season, or more!

Anne,
The ladies at Sophie Dahy have got it down pat! The charming ladies & their beautiful flowers are quite a find.
Peonies & Sweetpeas are the sweetest smell on earth! But when you can't seem to grow the real deal, Sophie Dahy's are the next best thing.

Now i need to catch up on the rest of your posts & see what you've been up to. It's always so great to visit with you.

Hi Anne,
That's strange. Is it too hot to grow them in Florida? It's peony season here in Norway; I got two bouquets from my piano students and have had lots of fun photographing them.
I'm sort of a "real flowers or no flowers" girl, but I know that the artificial ones are really good these days. I think it all comes down to how you feel about them yourself.
Have a wonderful weekend Anne!

Gorgeous! Peonies are hard to find here, too, so I tend to buy as many as I can carry when they pop up in Wholefoods or our neighborhood florist. The next best thing is going online (I just posted a pic from Martha Stewart's collection that I am considering ordering) when I need a peony fix!
