BEARS REPEATING.....

Ok, I am well aware that these photos of Aerin Lauder's Hamptons home from the current issue of Elle Decor have already been well-circulated across the web. I cannot help it, though. Her style is just so appealing and fresh that I had to post it yet once again. I admire her knack for mixing traditionalism with unexpected color and details, warding off the stodge factor completely. The pool/poolhouse is the picture of refined refreshment and the breakfast nook and banquette with kid's art and chippendale bamboo chairs....what can I say? Perfect! American style at it's best!

What cool images.. The weather here in the U.K. has been so hot for the last two weeks but I'm afraid that we are back to rain today.Good for the garden though. I could have done with that pool last week ! XXXX

That pool house would make a lovely little studio...and that banquette to meet with clients and serve them frothy drinks...now that is my idea of doing what you love!

I'm so glad you did post the pics! I tried to buy an Elle Decor (though never at a B&N or Borders), and couldn't find this issue, which I really want to see.
Maybe I just need to subscribe...

I too like the introduction of personal, candid even elements in an otherwise formal setting. I like Ms Lauder's style in general.Very refreshing.
Thank you so much for stopping by and encouraging me. I really appreciate it.

Don't you just love it when REALLY BIG IMPORTANT PEOPLE show off their children's art work? You can tell that she treasures those things. That makes me REALLY like her even more! Thank you to ELLE DECOR for showing it off also!
