As a child, I had a special jewelry box that I loved. It was one of those boxes that contained a delicate little twirling ballerina. When the lid was lifted, the ballerina, dressed in her sparkly tulle tutu, would pop up and start spinning to the music. I kept all of my junky little plastic rings and a goldtone locket in there for safe-keeping. While I still don't own a lot of fancy jewelry, I do dig this totally feminine and classic jewelry box by Smythson. Isn't it beautiful? It would look great just sitting there, minus any exciting contents (it's tres expensive, and I have a strange penchant for colored boxes, even if they're just cardboard!)

This is really beautiful! I had something similar as a girl, with a twirling ballerina also. Mine was covered in a lighter shade of pink, faux leather. :)
I had the famous ballerina box, as well! What I would give to find that again....

Aw! This box is a beauty, it’s like every woman’s must have item, very beautiful.
You should see my daughter's jewelry box...(es) she has some shaped like stars for beads and baubles, and one with a tutu clad diva, another pink box from a local shop and never enough plastic rings and things.

I had a little box too growing up with the twirling ballerina. Mine was a lavender color. This one is pretty and would be a beautiful backdrop for a lot of shiny bling. Enjoy! xoxo
Me too, and I still have several boxes. Attempts at consolidation have failed. I think the contents of the box are not willing to move to another home. I would so love to have a pink box. I will check this out.

Yes all of us little girls had the similar ballerina jewelry box! I love this one though!
It looks as if everyone of us girls had a jewellery box with a ballerina that we kept our 'jewels' in.I'm not a big jewellery person but jewellery boxes do tempt us to know what's inside and that is a particularly nice one.
I love boxes, and also remember the pop up ballerina. How fun.
