Pictured here is St. Elizabeth's of Hungary Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado. I recently completed this painting for a client who wanted to commemorate her wedding here. I thought that was a beautiful idea! A painting of a church or other venue would make a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift that would really stand out and be cherished for many years. Under a 100 yr old fig tree in Whepstead Gardens. I will never forget it. Great post.
Beautiful work, Anne! We were married in Seattle.
at my grand parents church...9 months pregnant....can you say big bride.
a tiny thatched barn deep in Kent countryside
thanks for prompting the memories
I love this idea! Beautiful!
We eloped to the San Francisco City Hall!
The setting for our wedding was an old stone chapel (Garrett Chapel) high on a bluff overlooking Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes of Upstate New York.

I was married in one of my favorite churches, "Holy Spirit" the one in my home-town, it is formidable, elegant, regal and still standing strong. What a wonderful gift and memory to cherish.
As always, wonderful Anne!

That is gorgeous and such a great idea. Someone gave us a sketch of the Chapel (at University of Richmond) as a gift and it is displayed in our hallway and such a great conversation peice. Your work is awesome!
What a sweet idea! I was married in the church I grew up in in East Lansing Michigan and our reception was at the MSU ballroom. It was the perfect day.

Anne, that is a gorgeous painting! I was lucky enough to get married in an honest to goodness castle, in Wales. I love this idea of you painting it...I'm saving up my pennies!!
We said our vows in Solomons Island, MD, on the Potomac River.
Lovely painting you did...

Have a golden day! xoxo
Holy Trinity in Georgetown in Washington, DC. Founded in 1794-oldest continuously operating church in DC. Not the year I was married.
we were married just outside of woodstock, new york. it was beautifully rustic and elegant in the early fall.

Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, NY. Oh, how I would love one of your paintings of one of the buildings there. Wow, I never thought of that before! Ooh!!
That is such a lovely idea Anne...xv
Dear Anne,
What a beautiful picture! We got married in a private ceremony in front of the Sydney Baha'i temple (http://hubpages.com/hub/the-bahai-temple). It is a beautiful site just minutes away from the ocean. This is a lovely idea!

This is sweet! We were married in a Garden Park in Santa Barbara CA.
God, nature, sunshine and lots of family present in the month of May some years ago. Great fun and he's still the one!

The compass overlooking the ocean in Dana Point, California, conveniently located across the street from my parents' house for the reception.
What a beautiful picture. I was married at Kirk in the Hills in Bloomfield Hills, MI almost 16 yrs ago!
What a lovely idea! Dave and I are celebrating our 3rd anniversary on Wednesday actually. We were married at The Richmond House, an old Southern plantation-style home in Richmond, TX (about 30mi. outside Houston).
A beautiful painting of the chapel! Actually, today is my 18th anniversary! We were married at a quaint little English style chapel on beautiful grounds not far from our hometown in Southern California. The chapel was too small unfortunately to fit everyone(who would have thought that almost every invite would show at the wedding service?) So, many stood outside just waiting and listening! What a true blessing!
Thank you for the beautiful post and giving me more to remember on my anniversary!

How cute. I was married at Hotel del Coronado in San Diego. The old hotel was in one of my favorite movies, "Some Like It Hot".
Vegas, baby! I guess that's why no one has gifted us with a beautiful rendering of the Little White Wedding Chapel... doesn't sound quite as sacred as St Elizabeth's of Hungary now does it! (but hey, if it's good enough for Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward AND Britney Spears, it's good enough for me!!)
Beautiful painting... and a lovely gift idea.
This is beautiful Anne!! Not only a great idea, but executed so well. I can't think of a more charming wedding or anniversary gift - imagine the couple opening this after their wedding!
I'm so in AWE of this BEAUTIFUL painting!!! As for my Wedding, well I'm still HOPING,WISHING and PRAYING that I'll have one after I meet the LOVE of MY LIFE!!!!:)
The church my great-grandparents help build in a very small town in Iowa. It's what my dad calls a "jewel-box" of a church and he's absolutely right. At 4pm on a Saturday night in December is WAS a jewel box. Ah, what wonderful memories.
I was proposed to under the Harbour Bridge in Sydney, then married 1st at Paradise Palms in Cairns, Australia and then again at Fox Hills in Plymouth, Michigan...we also had a 3rd reception in Sydney!:) I think this is a great idea Anne!
This would be lovely. It could even be the place where the first date occurred (a cute restaurant window), where the proposal took place....so many firsts and important dates.
cool anne! i made drew the church where friends of mine got married & gave it to them for christmas. they love it so much! of course yours is way cooler :)
love this! We were married in the midst of an evacuation and hurricane under palms overlooking the atlantic in Islamorada, but that's the stormiest our marriage has ever been:)
As shocked as I am, my husband and I were married at that exact church three years ago on September 2nd! It is a gorgeous church and very worth preserving its image. You're work is amazing and really captures the essence of St. E's.
Such a lovely idea, popping over to contact you re a painting of our little church :) Nicolex
It's beautiful. I would love to have a painting of where I was married!
