PROJECT POSITIVITY

I am trying to put this into practice.  In this world of constant negativity and so many trying to put someone or something down to lift themselves to a higher position, it's hard sometimes not to become angst-ridden and join the hordes of whiners and haters. There's nothing wrong with having strong opinions and beliefs, but I'd so much rather spend my time focusing on and promoting what's right and positive than becoming a bitter, whining sourpuss.  Nobody needs that, including me. So, I am learning to just "zip it". As my mom used to say - "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything".  I am tired of thinking about the evil, the jerks, the users, the selfish and what's wrong with the world.  That exhausts me and just gives them play time and wastes my thoughts and energy on regurgitating negativity.  I'm definitely not there yet, but here's what I am shooting for:

"whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Phillipians 4:8

My father used to say the same thing. I think I used to roll my eyes a lot but now I understand what he was saying. I wish he was here to tell him he was right. Love what you're saying and agree it's a nicer way to live. Not always easy, but definitely nicer! Annie x

Fabulous post and I can't agree with you more...Why can't others be happy for someones success...
bottom line they are just jealous...
remember...people work very hard to get where they are..things don't happen overnight...if everyone kept there head in the game and worked hard they would be there too!!

Excellent Anne. It is SO important to not let others get us down. Life is about cherishing what we have and who we love, the good influences in our lives!

By the way have you thought about getting your designs on Beach Towels?
After all you are in Florida!

I love that quote and am so glad for the reminder, it's the second time it's come up in some form since last friday--must be a message from the universe!

Great quote and it's so important to surround ourselves with positive people too rather than those who constantly complain.

Anne: wonderful post! I think this phrase should be translated in the "Annechovie" way - into a wonderful piece of art. Seeing this every day would help a lot of us. I try for gratitude every day but, as we are just mere mortals, am not always successful. But I guess we all just plug away, every day, trying to live as we should.

Wise words Anne. I'm working on this too. And the whole envy battle... That's a tough one as well. This whole "being human" thing is a lot of work!

Anne, I just read your interview on Holly Phillips blog and let me so that I am so touched by your heart and your love of the Lord. I have always loved your work but for some reason wasn't a follower of your blog. I am now! I also love the Lord and know first hand how he can protect us. Last week I was under scrutiny from someone who was determined to tear me apart and my defense was prayer. God always protects his lambs. I wish you a happy day I am going to pin this quote on my pinterest. I look forward to following you. I think he directed me your way today!
