SANDWICH ART

I am really into colorful food and these sandwiches (via Pinterest via Honestly Yum) look like little masterpieces to me. I always find myself drawn to small plates, tapas, tea sandwiches and sushi. If I weren't an artist, I'd be a decorator or a chef. There is such scope for creativity, not to mention that I love eating! You could make these as hors d'oeuvres or an entire meal. Find the recipes for these scrumptious ricotta crostini here.
Hope you have a scrumptious weekend!

EATING YOUR WORDS!

Call me impractical, but I just found this gadget I spotted on Pinterest very charming.
You simply write a note or message on the top screen and this device burns it into your slice of toast!
How clever!  It's called a "Toast Messenger"

ARE YOU A FOODIE?

I absolutely LOVE to eat. When I do watch TV, it's often something on The Food Network. I even enjoy painting food (see image above). My friend Sabina, over at Barefoot in the Orchard posted this amazing list she found on the blog Very Good Taste. It includes 100 items that every omnivore should try in his or her life. You are supposed to copy the list from Very Good Taste's "The Omnivore's 100" and post it to your blog, bolding the items you've tried and putting an asterisk by any you would NEVER try. (Although, I have to say, the tale of Green Eggs and Ham does come to mind...)
It's a fun little exercise if you've got some time to kill - I've tried 38 out of 100. Not very impressive, but there are some on the list I just COULD NOT stomach.
